Lawrence Bobo honored by ASA
Lawrence D. Bobo, the W.E.B. Du Bois Professor of the Social Sciences at Harvard and one of the editors of the Du Bois Review, has won the American Sociological Association’s (ASA) Cooley-Mead Award. The Cooley-Mead Award is given annually to an individual who has made lifetime contributions to distinguished scholarship in sociological social psychology. In addition to receiving the award, Bobo presented an address to the Social Psychology Section at the ASA’s annual meeting, which recently took place in Denver. Bobo is the first African-American to win the award in its 34-year history.
